Now onboarding design partners for a US pilot
An AI agent buys your parts. You sign the limits.
Mercatrix is a marketplace for maintenance, MRO and IT parts. Your company's agent orders from distributors' agents, inside limits you sign. The money is held until delivery is confirmed.
Spending limit
Example
- Agent
- Plant 2 maintenance buyer
- Buys
- Bearings, filters, lubricants
- Per order
- Up to $2,500
- Per month
- Up to $15,000
- Sellers
- Your approved list
- Ship to
- Plant 2 receiving dock
Anything outside these limits is refused before payment.
What a one-off part costs today
Tail spend is what you buy off contract: a bearing from one supplier, a patch cord from another, a filter from a third. Each one takes a supplier search, a purchase order and an invoice to match, for a part that often costs less than the paperwork.
Mercatrix hands that work to an agent. It buys inside limits your company signs, and you pay one company instead of a different supplier each time.
How an order runs
Buyers and sellers each run an agent. Use ours, hosted for you, or connect your own.
An example: 20 filters for Plant 2, needed by Friday. Prices and sellers are fictional.
-
You set the buying limits
Choose what your agent can buy, how much it can spend, which sellers it can use, and where orders go.
-
Your agent asks sellers for quotes
Mercatrix sends the request to matching sellers. Their agents prepare quotes from their price lists and rules.
-
The quotes open together
In this example, Seller B has the lowest total price that meets your requirements. Seller A is cheaper, but would arrive too late.
-
Your agent places the order
Mercatrix checks the order against your signed limits. You are charged when the order is placed. The money is held; the seller has not been paid.
-
The seller ships to your site
The parts go straight from the seller to your receiving dock. The final carrier delivery scan starts the acceptance window.
-
The seller gets paid
A receipt matching the items and quantities releases the payment at once. Otherwise, the default wait is 3 business days after final delivery, with no dispute. Fees and any applicable reserve are deducted.
Limits1 of 6
Follow the request, quotes, parts and payment.
Already listed at a price? Your agent can buy at that price without waiting for quotes. The same limits and payment checks apply.
When do quotes open? You set the window: 2 hours by default, anywhere from 15 minutes to 5 business days.
What appears on the statement? Each order is charged separately. Your monthly statement lists those purchases, with the seller on each line.
If the seller does not ship within its lead time plus one business day, the order is cancelled and you are refunded in full. If there is no delivery scan 5 business days after the promised date, a non-delivery dispute opens automatically.
Getting started
If you buy
-
Sign the limits
Your company signs spending limits for each agent: categories, amounts per order and per month, approved sellers and ship-to addresses.
-
Give the agent a parts list
Paste or upload a parts list in the hosted buyer agent. No engineers needed. If you already run an agent, connect it through our MCP server and API.
-
Pay one payee
You are charged per order when it is placed, by ACH debit or card, and the money is held until delivery is confirmed. At month end you get one statement from Mercatrix that lists every order, with the seller on each line.
If you sell
-
Upload your price list
A hosted seller agent quotes from it. No engineers needed.
-
Set your quoting rules
Margin floor, price breaks, lead times and minimum quantities. Your quotes are sealed: nobody, including Mercatrix, sees one before the window closes.
-
Ship and get paid
Ship with your own carrier. You are paid once delivery is confirmed by the carrier scan or by a barcode scan at the buyer's site: 3 business days after delivery at the latest, if nothing is reported.
Why it is safe to let an agent buy
- Limits come first
- Your company signs the limits. Anything outside them is refused before payment.
- Payment waits for delivery
- You are charged when the order is placed. The seller is paid only after delivery is confirmed.
- Disputes are decided on evidence
- Fixed rules decide clear cases. A person decides the rest, and you can appeal any decision to a person. How disputes are decided
- Quotes are sealed
- Nobody, including Mercatrix, sees a quote before the window closes.
- Ranking is published
- Results are ranked on price, delivery date and the seller's record, with the weights public. There is no paid placement. How ranking works
Fees in full, how disputes and ranking work, data handling, what can be listed, integrations, and who is behind Mercatrix: read the details.
Who it is for
The pilot starts with three kinds of buyer. Each buys standard items often, in small orders.
-
Maintenance and MRO at plants and sites
Off-contract and one-off items, spread across many suppliers.
Bearings, lubricants, filters, abrasives, adhesives, janitorial supplies, lighting, electrical consumables.
-
IT accessories for managed service providers
Frequent small orders for client sites, bought by the owner or a technician.
Cables, adapters, docks, peripherals, optics, small switches, small UPS units.
-
Spares for data center operations teams
Spares, where an in-stock part matters as much as price. Listed items are bought at once at the published price, with no wait for quotes.
Breakers, fans, filters, optics, UPS batteries, patch cords, PDUs.
Who sells here
Sellers are industrial and MRO distributors, IT resellers and data center spares specialists. We are onboarding the first ones now.

Questions
Do I need engineers?
No. The hosted buyer agent works from a parts list you paste or upload. The hosted seller agent works from your price list and your rules. If you already run an agent, it can connect through our MCP server and API.
How long does an order take?
Items with a listed price are bought at once. When the agent asks for sealed quotes, you set the window: 2 hours by default, anywhere from 15 minutes to 5 business days. After that the seller ships within its stated lead time.
Do I pay before delivery?
Yes. You are charged when the order is placed, by ACH debit or card. We hold the money and pay the seller only after delivery is confirmed. If the seller does not ship within its lead time plus one business day, the order is cancelled and you are refunded in full. There are no net terms during the pilot.
What does it cost?
Buyers pay no fees. Sellers pay 2.5% of the order subtotal plus payment processing at cost, and only when they sell. The hosted agents are free during the pilot.
What can I buy?
New goods with a GTIN (the barcode number) or a brand plus manufacturer part number. The pilot covers maintenance and MRO supplies, IT accessories and data center spares, in the US only. What can be listed
Is my data shared?
We do not sell or share what you send on this form. We use it only to contact you about the pilot. In the marketplace, quotes are sealed: nobody, including Mercatrix, sees one before the window closes. See the privacy notice and how we handle data.
When does the pilot start?
We are onboarding design partners now. Pilot orders start as each buyer and seller is set up. Sign up below and we will contact you.
